Intensive Care

The current intensive care, anaesthesia care and emergency care environment means that increasingly complex care situations have to be dealt with on a more regular basis: The ever increasing, as well as ageing, population with its wide range of medical conditions is now encountering always better (intensive) medical treatment options. The Dual Master's study course in Intensive Care provides an academic qualification for nursing and care personnel, which can also be utili8sed to obtain additional, ongoing specialist training for care services in the intensive, anaesthetic and emergency sectors in collaboration with the dual partner company.

The career-integrating Master's study course in Intensive Care thereby enables students to deal with highly complex tasks and problems which could arise in the anaesthesiology, intensive and emergency medical care which is required for patients. The content of the theoretical specialist modules for the state-recognised examination for advanced specialist training will therefore be acquired at the University of Applied Sciences and subsequently supplemented, tested and examined as part of the practical part of the training course at the ongoing training provider.

Graduates should be qualified for tasks in the professional management and control of procedures in the complete intra-hospital or clinical intensive care process. The objective will be to develop a specialist awareness for possible problems and to contribute to the needs-based additional development of the technically-related specialist area for providing care for anaesthesia, intensive and emergency cases by implementing academic discourse and the co-design for the required care processes.
